The project space agentur was founded and directed by the curator, researcher, and artist Karin Christof to identify new artistic tendencies within the contemporary art world(s) in a cosmopolitan place like Amsterdam. The program has been curated in cooperation with different curators and artists such as Inti Guerrero (CO), Lars Eijssen (NL), Ula Tornau (LT), Vera Lauf (D), Francesco Bernardelli (I), Delphine Bedel (F), Tilmann Meyer-Faje (D), and Nils van Beek (NL).
As a platform for artists and curators, agentur showcased and discussed artists and curators’ work in an informal and salon-like setting. Moving across different places in the city, the curatorial teams chose a suitable cultural location and partner for each artist to temporarily collaborate with.
From 2004 till 2011, agentur was part of Transartists as well as ResArtis, providing an international Artist-in-Residence for artists as well as curators and researchers.
